Earthworks St Albans are delighted with the generous donation of £1,000 from The Harpenden Gardening Society.
Earthworks based at Hixberry Lane St Albans teaches skills in horticulture to people with learning difficulties.
Earthworks Fundraiser Alexandra McCann said:
“We are really appreciative of this donation. The money donated will go towards running Earthworks Allotment Club which works specifically with gardeners with acquired brain injuries. Donating to a small charity like Earthworks makes an immediate difference to the lives of people living with a disability in the St Albans area.”
Robin Packman (who has an acquired brain injury and is the pioneer of The Allotment Club) said:
“Being at Earthworks and talking and working alongside people has helped me feel more confident. I really enjoy my time here at Earthworks.”
